The Susan Stanek Show
Testimonials:
"If Susan Stanek's art was any more cross-genre, her art
would also start my car in the morning. I got my first Sue original back in high school. She was screwing off in class and had snuck in a miniature watercolor set. I took home an OK grade but a better bookmark/fine art/painting hoo-ha that's been framed on my mantel for nearly 13 years.
Little has changed. Sue's still my hero and the art still is taking the pixels, clay, brush paper pen pencil ink by surprise. Something frothy, and elusive, comes bobbing along between these dreamlike pieces. I'm still trying to decipher it, tracing piece by piece, the parts and the sum of the whole maddeningly upside down and freaking great all the while. All I know is that this is a lifetime investment. Once you go Sue, you don't go back. It's a trip through the rabbit hole once you really look. And you should. I have not seen her create anything out of Q-Tips and spray cheese yet but I suspect that it would still somehow fly. If the medium is the message than she's got many, many things to say. Well." - Kate Haley, WildPen.com |
"Ms. Stanek's art goes way beyond sizzle and our coffee maker. No, it's back on the walls where battles are waged and won in our headquarters, oh, and some of it is out of the snack area too.
We're koo-koo for Sue. On the biz side, she runs a tight ship. We've never had anything arrive here better packed and carefully thought out. Plus, the stuff totally rocks. (We wish our corporate font was a cool as Sue's lettering.)" -The Accurate Always Team |

"Very artistic, Susan. You view the
world beautifully. I get a sense of calmness that relaxes my eyesight, and
entices them to look on as if one glance at the pictures is not enough... you
want the vision to stay in your mind, That's what I feel when I find myself
wanting to keep looking at some of them."
Manuel de Salva, Director and Producer

“Your work has a quiet, intelligent spirit, and I encourage
you to keep it up. My sense is that for you, making things is, as breathing is,
just a natural way of being. I hope you never stop.”
Sculptor, Ron Pederson. 2003.

“I highly recommend Susan (Stanek) as a wildlife artist. She
has the ability to do detailed work as well as creative, expressive work.”
Barbara Vanden Toorn, art instructor. 1992.

“I find it very interesting. It reminds me of 1930’s pottery studios…each piece is
intriguing. ...You already have a strong sense of your
own style…as far as form and content go – you have that nailed...don’t let
anyone talk you out of the way you work.”
Ceramacist, Madeline Kaczmarezyk. 2003

"... I may not have been born with a silver spoon in my
mouth, but I may have been born with a pencil in my hand. As a child I
would sketch observations from nature. This taught me the basics of art
such as how to see, and measure, about anatomy and the use of light. My
first real art class was in High School. I have since earned my B.F.A. in
Studio Art from Aquinas College, Michigan. Today I produce both commercial
art and fine art, in many different media, and in many different styles."
