The kitchen counter became a tool bench.

  Only the broom closet remains.

Here we finished the drywall and plaster job on the bulkhead.  Has yet to be painted.  Unfortunately I didn't think to photograph the humungous hole with draping wires and such.  Sorry kids.

...um, now what do we do??

Dining room.  Notice the desk.  All of the cupboards and pantry are against the window.

If ever anyone scoffs at the removal of the precious carpet, forever hold your peace!  Gross!

  Kitchen before...

Tearing up the linoleum, and the plywood underneath, revealing the floor pattern beneath it.

  After removal of the linoleum.

Marking studs to nail out the squeaks in the floor.  No more squeaks now!!

  What a sight.

The old linoleum went from, goes through out the kitchen, dining room, and all the way to the fireplace.  Wow, that's a lot of waxing!  I see why carpet was laid.

Say goodbye to the old floor, and it's sub floor!  These pieces we kept for sentimental reasons.  We must be very sentimental people!

  Burn baby burn!

Get the hose!  The smoke is really black!  Stinky too!

Now our work can begin.  Foam is laid, and here we're starting a new wood floor in the dining room.

  ...coming along...

Dining room floor is laid, now we can finally eat dinner and go to bed.

Here we put the pantry next to the broom closet to make room for a new refrigerator.  We'll place the desk next to that one so it'll be against the wall like it was.

This is what Sue painted on the cement floor in the basement.  No more red shag.  Now Doug will have to change his password!  We left a secret piece in the closet in case you'd like to visit with it, pet it....

Finally we got the refrigerator out.  It sits in the garage, shocking us every time we open it unless we have rubber soled shoes.

Now we can finish laying the floor in the kitchen.

  ...and going...

We finally make it to the end.  This is where the stove will be.

Here, we have yet to put the stove back in place.

Awe, the new saw is so cute!  Lots of cutting was done.

Ok, we should have done this BEFORE we put the floor in.  But good ideas aren't always coming to us in proper order.

There were nails everywhere!  It was very difficult to remove the paneling.  I think there was more metal than wood on the walls!

  rrRAR!

Now it is night.  We have the paneling off.

II was so excited to put the table in.

All hail the new refrigerator, all hail the new refrigerator!

  Homey once again.

This is the view from the fireplace.
